After finishing medical and dental school at the University Medical Center Mainz, Germany, in 2015, I started training in Oral- and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Department of Oral- and Maxillofacial Surgery in Koblenz, Germany. The training in Oral- and Maxillofacial Surgery will be finished in 2020, prospectively. My clinical and scientific interest is focused on oral regeneration and rehabilitation, biomaterials and on dental implantology. In this context, I am focused on the biocompatibility, the biomechanics and the characteristic architectural features and hallmarks of collagen matrices and bone substitutes for oral soft- and hard tissue regeneration. Further, innovative and pioneering imaging and visualization techniques of biomaterials are in my special focus of interest, such as the use of synchrotron radiation based X-ray tomographic microscopy. As a member of the worldwide ITI family and winner of the Straumann/botiss Young Pro Award in 2015, I am firmly convinced that there will be a need for further innovations in the field of oral biomaterials and regeneration.
