
Alberto Malacarne is Program Director of the Orofacial Pain Advanced Education Program at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) and Associate Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences at TUSDM. He has a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Universita' degli Studi di Genova (Italy) and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and a fellowship in Orofacial Pain from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, and he is a diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain. His clinical activity is completely devoted to the assessment and management of patients with face, head, and neck pain, treating conditions such as temporomandibular disorders, trigeminal neuropathic pain, and primary headache disorders. He directs the CODA accredited residency program in Orofacial Pain at Tufts University. He is the director of the course "Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology of Orofacial Pain" and "Pain Assessment and Management" for Postgraduate Dental Students. He has been lecturing for multiple didactic courses at Tufts Dental School.
