Management of ledges and false canals
Re-Establishing of glidepath during root canal re-treatment is suggested to be very important and might increase the odds of success of non-surgical retreatment. Totally or partially blocked canal pathways present a constant challenge in clinical endodontics. Re-establishing glide path in presence of ledges and false root canals could be from difficult to nearly impossible. The risk of procedural accidents, such as perforation and instrument separation, is high. However, under the magnification provided by a dental operating microscope the whole procedure could become very predictable. This lecture is designed to help the clinician deal predictably with challenging cases of partial or complete blockage of root canal glidepath.
