Duygu Karasan graduated from Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey) in 2009 and subsequently was awarded PhD from the same university in 2014 for her studies in Prosthodontics. Upon completion of her training in prosthodontics, she started to serve as a faculty member in her home institution. She worked as a visiting researcher in 2013-2014 in the Prosthodontics Department at University of Freiburg under supervision of Prof. Dr. Joerg Strub and Prof. Dr. Wael Att. She was awarded with ITI scholarship in 2018 in Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials, University Clinics for Dental Medicine, University of Geneva under supervision of Prof. Irena Sailer and currently, she is continuing her research and clinical activities in the same department following the completion of her scholarship program. Dr. Karasan is an active ITI member since 2010. Her primary research interests are biomechanics, esthetic implant rehabilitations and dental implant therapy related complications. She takes part in several research projects in these areas.
