This is the largest event in the implant dentistry calendar worldwide and takes place every three years. It draws participants from all over the world: both ITI Fellows/Members as well as unaffiliated dental professionals. For the 2020 World Symposium, a total of 6,000 participants are expected – the greatest proportion of these from South East Asia. The overall area of interest is implant dentistry which involves clinical, academic and research professionals from across a broad range of specialties including maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, general dentistry.
Speakers are professionals that lead in their field and the World Symposium offers them the opportunity to report on the latest developments as well as areas of currently greatest interest. This edition of the World Symposium is orienting all of its main sessions towards the patient and his/her needs, expectations and perceptions in regard to optimizing treatment and compliance. The event is made up of lectures over three days accompanied by an industry exhibition. The exhibiting companies include Straumann as well as many companies that provide equipment and technology involved in implant dentistry.
