Every patient has a story: Evidence meets patient perspectives to guide clinical care

Dr. Edward Chaoho Chien studied dentistry in Chung Shan Medical University, Taichung, Taiwan from 2005 to 2011. After graduating he joined his family dental practice Datun Dental Clinic, Wufung, Taiwan. In 2012 he was accepted in Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Boston, USA, for a combined CAGS/DScD Post-Graduate Prosthodontic Program. He received his Doctor of Science in Dentistry (DScD) in 2017 with “Evaluating 3D Fit of Lithium Disilicate Restorations with A Novel Virtual Measuring Technique”. With his thesis he was also the recipient of the finalist in IADR Arthur R. Frechette Prosthodontic Research Award Competition for New Investigators, London 2018. He has received multiple scholarships to attend Peter Dawson Academy, ITI USA/Mexico Resident Symposium and ITI Scholarship at Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde Amsterdam (ACTA), Amsterdam, Netherlands from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, he was nominated for Future Leaders in Prosthodontics 9 (FLIP9) workshop. Since 2018 he is an ITI Fellow and working full time as Assistant Professor in the department of Oral Implantology and Prosthodontics at ACTA for both clinical and research.
