Assoc Prof. DDr. Michael Payer – is the vice chair of the Department of Oral Surgery and Orthodontics at Medical University in Graz, Austria. Since 2020 Dr Payer is the Head of the Research Laboratory for Tissue Regeneration and Biomaterials as well as the Speaker of the postgraduate Doctoral School in Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery. The focus of research lies within the field of Oral surgery, implant dentistry as well as tissue regeneration. Dr Payer has authored numerous publications in peer reviewed journals as well as several book contributions and is strongly involved in international teaching and lecturing activities. Dr Payer has chaired the Austrian Society of Implantology. is the current ITI Section Chair in Austria and a member of the EAO Communication committee. Over the years he obtained substantial research funding as well as national and international research awards.
